Houndstooth is by far my favorite pattern. I love me a polka dot (as seen in my previous post), I love me a stripe, and I love a floral, but for some reason houndstooth has always been my favorite.

I initially put on the houndstooth top and the houndstooth dress and was just going to go with a basic black boot but then I saw these houndstooth boots out of the corner of my eye and I was like is this too much? and then I was like f it, I'm too much.

I honestly think the brown of the boots plays nicely into the brown of the dress. The white of the shirt picks up the white of the dress. You can't see it in these photos, but my earrings and watch face are blue, playing in to the blue in the dress. Y'all the (~Tim Gunn voice~) COHESION. But at the same time, I feel like this turned out not too "matchy matchy" while literally all being the same pattern and color story. I love it.

Royal blue and magenta. I don't know how I have not explored this combo more. Obsessed with this rich blue color and I think the undertones of purple in both the skirt and the turtle neck really compliment each other.

Also can we please have a moment of silence for the BOOTS. I am obsessed with these boots, but have found them a bit difficult to style-- they're either too much of a statement or don't match when I try to clash patterns (and, yes, I realize how that sounds but I swear it makes sense in my head!) But imagine my utter shock when I realized that this skirt and this turtleneck perfectly matched the flowers in the boot. I was worried it would be a bit too matchy matchy, but I actually think the boots really tied everything together.

My work wife told me this fit was in their top 5 fits I've ever worn (which is saying something for me.) I think I have to agree... I was feeling myself and this color combo.

Also shout out to my sister for giving me this turtleneck :)

I appreciate a sheer moment, but I ain't about to show nips at work. While I concede that the slip under the sheer skirt is a bit short HOWEVAH its not like I'm just wearing underwear like we've been seeing on the red carpet. Plus, I'm wearing tights, so skin is covered.

Also, I love a micro pleated midi skirt and a boot. I think the sheerness adds a fresh look on a classic silhouette.

Lastly, if you look closely you can see Eagles green stripes down the sleeves. GO BIRDS!
